MedTouch Names New CEO: Paul Griffiths MedTouch announced today that its Board of Directors has named Paul Griffiths to serve as the company’s Chief Executive Officer effective April 1, 2007.
Griffiths, 31, has served as the company’s Vice President of Client Services since 2004, where he has overseen major product development as well as client partnerships with academic institutions such as Montefiore Medical Center in New York City, top ranked Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, and Brooks Rehabilitation Center in Jacksonville. Prior to MedTouch, Griffiths has held a variety of positions in the information technology sector focusing on delivering web-based services including overseeing the design and implementation of consumer-facing commerce applications for an online retail portal.
“This is a tremendous opportunity for me, both personally and professionally,” said Griffiths. “Our vision to transform how hospitals and health management organizations engage with consumers via the web is exciting and cutting-edge. In the next few years alone, we will vastly reduce the risk, time, and resources necessary for hospitals to execute an effective web strategy. This is just the start of how we’ll impact American healthcare.”
Griffiths replaces co-founder and current CEO Peter Vessenes, a Boston Business Journal recognized 40-under-40 award winner, who will become Chairman of the Board. “In just two and a half years, MedTouch has become nationally recognized for its unique hospital-friendly approach and impressive ROI delivery,” Vessenes said. “We’ve accomplished our first goal much faster than I ever expected. In looking for a CEO to cast vision for the upcoming, tumultuous years of healthcare marketing, I have great confidence that Paul’s leadership will fulfill our vision of transforming the industry. He’s one of healthcare’s brightest young minds.”
MedTouch has tapped Jonathan Liu, who currently heads up the MedTouch Professional Services Team, to fill the Vice President role.
