MedTouch Receives 21 Awards for Innovative Client Projects in 2011

MedTouch Clients Win Awards for Interactive Healthcare in 2011

Cambridge, MA (December 22, 2011) – MedTouch is proud to announce that the company has received 21 awards on behalf of its clients in 2011 for achievements in interactive media.  Awards were bestowed for a wide range of projects-social media, mobile, interactive websites, and campaign microsites.

"Receiving these awards further supports the value of our partnership with our healthcare clients this year,” said Sandra Fancher, Managing Partner at MedTouch. “We are constantly evolving our services and capabilities to continue supporting our clients’ success online. We are committed to staying ahead of the curve in interactive services and to bringing fresh ideas to healthcare."

The University of Kansas Cancer Center received three awards for its new website, launched to support its goal to achieve NCI cancer center designation. Kansas Cancer was awarded an eHealthcare Leadership Award, Interactive Media Award, and W3 award. The Kansas Cancer project is the second website redesign contracted by The University of Kansas. In 2009, MedTouch also redesigned The University of Kansas Hospital’s website.

For creative use of social media, St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi won three awards, including a Best in Class in the Interactive Media Awards. Building on the momentum gained from the production of moving patient videos, MedTouch partnered with St. Dominic’s to create engaging and effective channels for the hospital to showcase its patient stories. MedTouch created a branded, custom YouTube channel and designed a new landing page on St. Dominic’s website to give the patient stories a home. The videos were given search optimized tags and descriptions and now rank in the top search results for many of St. Dominic’s key service lines, such as emergency cardiac care and cancer.

For its cardiology service line marketing initiatives Rochester General Hospital was awarded a Best in Class for New Media by the Interactive Media Awards program. Together with MedTouch, RGH rolled out YouTube and Facebook channels, as well as an engaging new landing page, all of which highlight the system’s Heart Center.

In the mobile category, IASIS Healthcare was recognized by the Aster Awards and Interactive Media Awards for its best-in-class mobile websites, which integrate ER Wait Times, convenient GPS directions, and Physician Directories to offer patients the convenience of coordinating their care from their smartphones. Newton-Wellesley Hospital won both an Interactive Media Award and a Gold Aster Award for its own mobile project incorporating ER Wait Times. NWH was the first hospital in the Boston area to offer these services to patients.

For creative microsites, OPI Rehabilitation in California won an award for their Parent’s Hope site and Suburban Health Organization picked up an Aster Award for its Physician Recruitment site. Both Bassett Healthcare and Phelps County Regional Medical Center received Web Awards for a Physician Recruitment site and a Physician Group site, respectively.

"These awards recognize all the hard work of both our clients and MedTouch staff this year,” said Sandra Fancher, Managing Partner at MedTouch. “We are proud of our clients’ achievements and furthermore honored to see that they are all succeeding in their marketing efforts this year. We are pleased to play a part in supporting their interactive goals. While all our awards are valued, the mobile category is a special honor for us, as it was a new service added in 2011.”
