MedTouch CEO to Discuss Impact of Social Media in Healthcare Marketing

An active speaker in the healthcare marketing community, MedTouch CEO Paul Griffiths will educate healthcare marketers about the importance of using new media to reach consumers.

June 4, 2008 - Cambridge, MA - MedTouch, a leading provider of interactive, web-based solutions for healthcare organizations, announced that CEO Paul Griffiths will sit on an expert panel discussing the importance of using social media to reach healthcare consumers. The event, sponsored by the American Marketing Association, will take place on June 20 in Houston, TX.

“I appreciate being asked to speak about the future of social media in healthcare marketing, especially since no one will be able to prove me wrong for at least five years,” said Paul Griffiths, CEO of MedTouch. “I’m also fortunate to have a team that makes me look good and sound smart, so hopefully I can live up to those high standards in person.”

Focused on “demystifying” Web 2.0, topics of discussion will include the importance of having a strategic plan around the use of social media, increasing awareness and acceptance of social media among healthcare consumers, and using social media to target specific demographics.

“Healthcare providers are aware the impact of traditional media outlets is shrinking,” said Griffiths. “But the great opportunity social media affords is vastly superior to anything we’ve seen before. Healthcare consumers are self-organizing in a way that was impossible a few years ago and the hospitals who engage first will reap rewards disproportionate for their investment."
