Front End Web Developer, Team Done Means Done
The Front End Web Developer is a new position at MedTouch. The Front End Developer will create front-end templates with a focus on maintaining the highest quality with regard to coding standards, accessibility, and browser support, including mobile. This position is part of Team Done Means Done (Technology), but will work closely with designers and project managers.
The Role
- Understand technical and functional design requirements
- Create prototypes for client engagements
- Hand code HTML, DHTML, XHTML, CSS with SEO best practices
- Object oriented Javascript/AJAX development (jQuery)
- Create prototypes for client engagements
- Intuit layout, usability and interaction requirements from design specifications
- Convert raw images and layouts from a graphic designer into CSS/HTML/XHTML pages
- Rip from Photoshop PSDs to standards compliant HTML and CSS
- Evaluate for compliance with 508, WCAG and W3C
- Integrate HTML into the CMS in a way that users can update using WYSIWYG editor
- Test resultant HTML across browsers
- Become an expert in HTML5, HTML for mobile devices and HTML for email campaigns
- Work with design team and Project Managers to build and refine graphic designs for websites
- Work with engineers to come up with the standards and best practices for CMS integration
Technical Experience
- PSD to HTML ninja skills is a MUST
- Experience coding in HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Previous CMS experience (especially Sitecore) is a plus
- Exposure to ASP.NET aspx page coding is a plus
- Previous experience with development tools like Subversion and Visual Studio
- Experience creating 508 compliant sites is desired
- Proficient in developing AJAX functionality
- Strong skills in Photoshop, Fireworks, or equivalent application(s)
- Previous Healthcare experience is a plus
Required Experience
- B.S. or B.A. in a related major or comparable educational experience.
- Candidates responding must be currently eligible to work in the U.S.
- Self-development and continuing personal development
- 2+ year experience with HTML/XHTML/Javascript/CSS/jQuery
- Strong attention to detail and desire for quality
- Development experience using extensible web authoring tools
- Self-starter with strong self-management skills
- Interest in the future of interactive development and the belief in standards, accessibility and SEO
Preferred Experience
- Experience with CMS integration such as Sitecore, Ektron, Kentico, Sitefinity
- Experience with web design within ASP.NET or PHP framework
- Experience with Flash/Actionscript
- HTML5 is a very big plus
- Graphic design and user interface design skills
