Newton-Wellesley Hospital Mobile Project
The Strategy
Newton-Wellesley Hospital and MedTouch partnered together to implement two cutting edge features with the goal of further positioning NWH as the hospital of choice for Boston Metro West. The first piece was to develop an emergency room wait time widget for the NWH homepage, updated every five minutes for real-time reporting. With the launch, NWH hopes to demonstrate the efficiency and speed of care delivery available to patients who choose the hospital for their medical services. NWH can now show that their ER wait times are shorter, patients get care faster, and patients can gauge how long their hospital visit will take. The second piece was to develop both a mobile website, and an iPhone application which would integrate the wait time reporting and allow patients to search for directions, physician contact information, and a number of other features on the go from their smartphones.
The Results, After Six Weeks:
Together with Newton-Wellesley Hospital, MedTouch identified key conversion points and made them more accessible.

Find an Emergency Room: 922 visits to mobile site from organic searches for NWH brand or hospital services in geographic area

Find a Physician: Ability to search for physicians in a mobile format, resulting in almost 350 individual searches
