MedTouch Partners with Brightcove to Provide Online Video to Healthcare Clients
MedTouch Expands Web Service Offerings for Healthcare Organizations with New Partnership
MedTouch, the leading provider of web strategy and online solutions for healthcare organizations in more than 20 states, has partnered with Brightcove, the cloud content services company, to offer online video solutions for healthcare organizations and enable these organizations to gain deeper insight into the performance of their video content.
As with consumer industries, consumption of video content and increasingly, online health information, is growing. 3 billion videos are viewed on YouTube every day, and eight in ten internet users have looked for health information online, such as about diet, health insurance, experimental treatments, doctors and hospitals, according to the Pew Internet and American Life Project.
“The average patient is more sophisticated now. They look to WebMD and other online health resources to research conditions,” said Paul Griffiths, Founding Partner and CEO of MedTouch. “They are hungry for content and video is an effective way to meet their needs. Healthcare organizations will be well-served to expand their patient education via the website through videos highlighting Centers of Excellence, innovative procedures, specialists, and facilities. Video has the ability to richly convey the hospital experience in a way that billboards and brochures cannot; Physician and patient testimonial videos invite trust and engage potential patients more successfully than other mediums.”
Through the partnership with Brightcove and deep integration with Google Analytics, healthcare organizations will now be able to gain deeper insight into the performance of video content. Detailed reporting on viewer behavior and content consumption metrics will enable video publishers to better gauge what kind of health information appeals to different audiences, and adjust the user experience accordingly to better align with patient expectations, creating a more meaningful interaction with the hospital.
“As one of the world’s leading providers of cloud-based video services, we are committed to finding new ways to help organizations across all industries engage their customers through digital media,” said Alex Nasson, vice president of channels and alliances at Brightcove. “By partnering with innovators like MedTouch, we are able to deliver value-added services to vertical industries like the healthcare industry and enable these organizations to deliver highly impactful, effective video experiences.”
Brightcove is the cloud content services leader with products used to publish and distribute digital media across PCs, smartphones, tablets and connected TVs. Brightcove products include Brightcove Video Cloud, the market-leading online video platform, and Brightcove App Cloud, the pioneering content app platform. Together, more than 3,000 media companies and marketers in 50 countries rely on Brightcove to power their digital content strategies.
“MedTouch is pleased to win this award and is enthusiastic about becoming a Brightcove partner and healthcare reseller of Brightcove video solutions,” said Griffiths.
The first MedTouch client to take advantage of the new reseller partnership is University Hospitals Health System, one of the nation’s leading health care systems, providing high-quality, patient-centered medical care at locations throughout Northeast Ohio.
“University Hospitals is looking forward to partnering with MedTouch to implement the Brightcove video solution for its websites, which enable us to offer higher quality video experiences to patients and visitors,” said Lynn Eastep, Director of Interactive Marketing and Web Development at University Hospitals. “We are especially excited about the feature-rich platform, mobile compatibility, and ability to syndicate videos via social media channels.”
