MedTouch Announces Strategic Hire of Angie Toomsen to Lead Content Strategy Practice

MedTouch, a leading provider of interactive, web-based solutions for healthcare organizations, adds Angie Toomsen to direct healthcare content projects

MedTouch today announces the appointment of Angie Toomsen as Director of Content Strategy and Development at MedTouch. A healthcare web and content strategy expert, Angie will lead MedTouch content development projects and ongoing client strategy services for select clients. 

Toomsen has advised web teams for the last six years, managing large content development projects for healthcare and other industries. Angie spent the last four years exclusively focused on healthcare content strategy at a leading healthcare CMS software company.

Drawing on her ten years of experience as a journalist, Angie will guide MedTouch clients in the establishment of organizational content governance and web standards, ensuring ideal brand representation and consistency of tone throughout entire client websites. Angie knows how to implement multi-faceted content strategies and understands how content is consumed by both the user and search engines. Her broad expertise in web strategy, including: copywriting, user-experience design, information architecture, usability research, strategic reporting and analytics, inbound marketing and SEO, CMS implementation, and client communications and training, allows her to think strategically about web content and its far-reaching impact. Angie will work alongside our web design team from project planning to launch to ensure navigation, layout and content development is in sync with all components of a web project. Post-launch, she will continue to work with our clients to optimize content for search, usability and editorial relevance.

Toomsen started her creative career in New York City, first as an editor at an international performing arts publication and assistant at several production companies, and later as a technical writer and research assistant, supporting senior-level analysts and directors at SG Cowen Securities and Goldman Sachs and Company. 

Angie has a Bachelor of Arts in Theater from the University of Northern Iowa and a Masters in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of Iowa. Beyond her healthcare marketing strategy work, Angie continues to practice journalism as a freelance arts and feature writer for several print and online publications. She is also an actor and an award-winning theatre director. Angie currently serves as Marketing Director for Dreamwell Theatre in Iowa City and Marketing Committee member of the Iowa Cultural Corridor Alliance.
